Sunday Stealing

1. A song that gives you goosebumps
A lot of songs can give me goosebumps. But if I have to keep one, and only one, I will choose this one.

EZ3kiel - Volfoni's Revenge

Everything is perfect from A to Z in this version of Volfoni's Revenge.

 2. A song you hated once but now love
Easy.

Pink Floyd - High Hopes

I remember when I was a kid, my brother was a huge fan of the band. Oh man, I hated this song. I have to admit that it's hard to listen to the Pink Floyd when you're 8 or 10. For a few years now, I have rediscovered the group, and well... How do you want to invent a new sound, a new kind of music after the Pink Floyd ? Seriously ?!

3. Do you remember your first CD?
Of course. It was Spice, in 1996. I still have it. And still listen to it !

4. Has your music taste changed much since childhood?
Yes. I was not a fan of classical music, now I love it and can talk about it with real arguments. I discovered country music and looove it.
I still have some problems with Jazz music. It's complicated.

5. Favorite genre?
Electronic music.

6. What’s a genre or style of music that you just don’t understand?
Jazz music ? It's complicated, it's hard to appreciate it. And, seriously, vocal jazz ?!

7. Do you have a process for listening to music, such as listening to the instruments more than words?
Nope. I listen to both, music and words. I like to listen only the music or just the voice, or the words. But depends of my mood....

8. What’s your favorite thing about your favorite song?
Well, I have a lot of favorite songs. And many years of experience in music industry.
I think that I will share with you this two songs.

One Direction - One thing

Van Susans - Lipstick Teeth

In late 2012, Van Susans came to play in Paris. We had a successful gig in Paris and we were coming back to Versailles by train. The guys played few songs in the train, just for fun (and especially this two). We all had a great time. I miss that time, and miss the guys.

9. Do you have a favorite decade for music?
All of them. Music from the past is so rich and has inspired so many new genres. I'm not a big fan of 2010-2019, but we still can find good stuff.

10. Can you play any instruments?
Ah ah ah. NO.
I tried cello when I was 10. Fail.

11. Do you remember your first favorite song?
I think I'm gonna share this one.

Bryan Adams - Please forgive me

As far I remember, I'm a fan.

12. What was the first concert you ever attended?
It was Jean Michel Jarre, in Versailles. A free gig on the Avenue de Paris, in front of the Chateau de Versailles. It was in 1993. I was 7. It was so cool. My brother wanted to go because he was a fan by the time, and bought the record Chronologie. So we went with my Dad, brother and sister. My mum didn't come cuz the little brother was only a few months old at the time. It's a good memory.

Voici :

10. Brid og ni mhaille, The Corrs. 43 écoutes entre le 12/07/2010 et le 22/10/2014
9. Goodbye Godric, True Blood OST. 44 écoutes entre le 06/01/2011 et le 31/10/2014
8. Like a prayer, repris par Glee. 45 écoutes entre le 21/04/2011 et le 02/10/2014
7. Get me through December, Alison Krauss. 47 écoutes entre le 19/04/2010 et le 02/04/2014
6. Misirlou, Sirba Octet & Isabelle George. 48 écoutes entre le 15/11/2010 et le 31/12/2014
5. Where is my mind, repris par Yoav et Emily Browning, SukerPunch OST. 49 écoutes entre le 07/01/2012 et le 10/02/2015
4. BB Guns and dirtbikes, The White Buffalo. 52 écoutes entre le 27/05/2012 et le 01/01/2015

3. You win or you die, Game of Thrones OST. 52 écoutes entre le 28/04/2012 et le 13/11/2014

2. Andante du Concerto pour piano n°21 de Mozart. 53 écoutes entre le 04/08/2012 et le 14/01/2015

1. The Wedding, Hint vs EZ3kiel.

Served Cold

Hello people.

Here is an early musical post. The song that will help me to work all day long cuz I have a lot of things to do for November gigs !!

November gigs are Van Susans' gig, and Served Cold is probably my favourite one.
First time I heard it for real was in June, when they played here for the first time in France, and I was... captivated, or maybe more than that. The song gave me chill !! It was awesome.

I went to London last week to see them live, and same goosebumps and shivers ! Damn, this song live is perfect !! And so, here is a little video for you, from last week gig !
Thank you to the guy who filmed it !!

L.O.V.E.R.M.A.N

Did I ever tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE this cover ???!!!

I discovered it last year when I was listening to the album Garage Inc., covers by Metallica.
The album was released in 1998 but I listen to it, entirely, for the first time in 2009, when after talking about Metallica at the Uni (because of the release of Death Magnetic), I had the idea to re-discover the band !

I looked after the original version on YouTube. What a mistake. The only version I'm able to listen is that one, with James Hetfield's voice ... I love how he used his voice : nice, angry, scary, reassuring ... I love it ... And the melody ... The bass... No sound, everybody's making a short silence, and big drums !!!!!!!!!! Oh God, one day I'd like to marry Lars Ulrich (and if I cannot marry him, I will marry another drummer !!)

I loved listening to that song with a big sound level, feeling the bass under my feet on the floor !

I love that song !!!!

Loverman - covered by Metallica
original by Nick Cave

"Loverman! Yeah, yeah, yeah! I got a masterplan, yeah
To take off your dress, yeah
And be your man, be your man, yeah
Seize the throne, haha
Seize the mantle
Seize that crown, yeah
'cause I am what I am what I am what I am, plus I am
I'm your loverman"

PS : ideas for future posts

- few years ago (no manyyyyyy), I made my Muse's TOP 50. Because I made it before they released Black Holes & Revelations, H.A.A.R.P (yeah, because sometimes a live version is much better than a studio), and The Resistance, I have to update it. I will post the old and the new Top 50.

- I wanted to make a TOP 10, impossible, TOP 20, impossible, so I made a TOP 50 for Muse. I think I will make others TOP. Next (following my collection of CDs ...) :

* TOP x of Electronic Music (including : Air, Archive, Birdy Nam Nam, Ez3kiel, Hint, Hint vs Ez3kiel - because some of them are much better than Ez3kiel alone or Hint alone, Vuneny, and Yuksek. If I think about others artists/bands, I will include them)

* TOP x of Metallica, from Kill them All to Death Magnetic, including some live versions

* TOP x of Alison Krauss with and without Union Station

* TOP x of Soundtracks

* TOP x of Covers

* The list is not closed because those ideas are from my CDs collections. I haven't check on my iTunes collection !!

I don't know when I will have the time to select the songs.

Cross Roads

Remember my post about Across the Universe movie (This Is A Story About) on this blog, and the other one "I talked about it few days ago" (on my other blog Day By Day)

My essay was about the myth of the black man who sold his soul the the Devil against the virtuosity in Guitar play. The original man, the one who sold is Robert Johnson.

Yesterday, I was at a CD store, looking for different things (that I didn't find), and I found two CDs of Robert Johnson. I bought them both.

Back home, I put one the the CD in my Hi-Fi, and I was back to Lyon, back to the class room D108, back to the class made by Gilbert Rapatel ! So, thank you Robert Johnson ! Here are some of his best songs (my opinion), and two surprises ...

Crossroads - by Robert Johnson

Come On In My Kitchen - by Robert Johnson

Last Fair Deal Gone - by Robert Johnson

I was listening to the CD, here comes "Come in my kitchen", and I began to sing it too ... Same thing with "Last Fair Deal Gone" ... I look at the titles, and realize why I know those two songs ... Thank you True Blood, watching this TV Show made me discover Crooked Still, and so, their two covers ...

Come On In My Kitchen - covered by Crooked Still

Last Fair Deal Gone - covered by Crooked Still
(Live @ Father's Day Bluegrass Festival)

Enjoy this sunny day !

Jealousy, Anger, Tiredness, what a nice family !!

Still no news from W. for the gig on Tuesday night !! Stay cool !!
No answers for that database I'm supposed to do for an event in Paris.
Still no job
No more sunshine
No news from him

Do I need vacation ? Or help ? Or both ?

I try to do it on Facebook, and my friends told me "please stop", so I stop.
So maybe I'll do it here, nice playlist. One artist or theme per week and one video per day.

The first playlist I made was about Muse. Because I had an interview with the french booking agent of the band (they didn't chose me !! Too bad, I'll see Matthew another day !!). Then I made on about Spice Girls, because one of my friend asked me, and because it's the first band I became fan of. The last one was about the word Loverman (it was for Valentine's Day). I think it was the last one, because it asked me a lot of time, and I didn't have that time !

Tell me what you want ! French music, rock music, jazz, classical, opera, celtic music ... ?

Wildwood Flower

Few years ago, they made a biopic about Johnny Cash. I love that movie.
One evening, I was chatting with a friend on MSN, and, I don't know why, I choose Wildwood Flower as my pseudonym.
