The Foggy Dew

Thursday, I stopped my review after our walk in Cashel.
Next day, my brother and I were horse-ridding on the beach.
What was next ...

Oh yeah, Connemara ...

08.09.2010 : Walking through Connemara

One second you admire the landscape...

Next second, you stop the car because they are here too !

During the summer it's ok.
There are some sheep on the road, but not so much.
During the winter, it's terrible.
Because lands are too cold, they come on the road that is hotter.
And they can stay during the entire day. In your car, you can't do nothing !

If you didn't see the sheep, and that the car hit it.
Two options:

- The sheep was a "wild" one (no fences), you have to declare it to the police and you will have to pay a fine.

- The sheep escaped his territory. The farmer will have to pay the fine, because it's its fault !

The best is having no sheep !

The Quiet Man (Cong)

Mum said that it was in this village that they shoot the movie "The Quiet Man".
Ok Mum, never heard about this movie !

Walking in the park of Cong Abbey

Monks of Cong Abbey were pretty smart.
The abbey was built around 1135.
This little shelter above the river hide a hole in the floor.
Through this hole, they were putting a fishing line attached to a little bell.
When the bell was ringing, they knew that one, or more, fish was capture.
After that, they just need to say to those who were working in the kitchen that the lunch / dinner will be fish !

Back to the Hotel. De Gaulle Seat.

When we booked this hotel, we didn't know that France had a history there. When we arrived there, we saw that the General de Gaulle spent few days there ! (and the funny thing is that during our 2 days there, there was also an ancient French Minister ... M. Leotard ...
Maybe he came here on pilgrimage ...

Yes, his seat is the little wooden seat behind my parents !

08.10.2010 : On the Road to Clare Co.

We left Connemara for the South. First stop, Clare County. Another landscape ...

A lot of rocks and limestone ... (hey, have you seen that BLUE sky ???)

Atlantic Ocean, so beautiful !

My brother always loved construction sets !!

I love this one. Don't you think it look like a heart ?

Cliffs of Mohar

The best hotel of our holidays ?

  2. Merci Charlotte !
