[Beer] in the Jar

Second part of my trip.

08.04.2010 : Dublin

Guinness Storehouse !!

Four elements ... : water, barley, hops and brewer's yeast... Nothing more !

Little brother having fun in the first room where you can find the four elements. He's playing with the water because he knows he is not 18 yet (in December) and so his entry ticket was a "children" one; that means : no tasting little boy !!

The largest vats were capable of holding about 90.000 gallons, that's 720.000 pints of Guinness.

wow !
The rules to drink Guinness : Listen, Look, Touch, Smell, Taste (in fact I don't like Guinness, I think it is too strong ...)

A copper has a 600 barrel capacity. 1 barrel contains 288 pints => So each copper holds 172.000 pints ! (and you cannot imagine how BIG this ancient factory is !!!)

The Museum is almost closing, we only had the time to see 2 floors (and there are 5 or 6 floors, don't remember ...) and we have to leave ... We have to be at the theatre at 19:00 ...

After that, we left Dublin.

08.05.2010 : Trim, Newgrand and Drogheda

Trim Castle

Unfortunately, he escaped ...

Did you ever try to zoom and centre a picture against the wind ?
Try again !

Try again !

This time, it's good !!

NewGrange

(in fact, this one is not NewGrange, it's the other one, but I don't remember its name ...)

Inside ... Beautiful ! Only rocks, but so beautiful ! A wonderful civilization, and we know nothing about them !

White and grey, this is NewGrange

Spectacular !!

After that we left for Connemara, but you will visit it tomorrow !

  3. Never been to Ireland but I want to go - soon! I don't drink beer, that's the only problem... That's so cool about the Petit Bateau grandson! I love the brand. It's great because you go in there to buy kids' clothes... and then maybe one little thing for me the mummy, too.... hahaha

  4. Don't worry, if you don't drink beer, you can drink cider. Irish cider is completely unlike the French one, and is very good too.
The problem with Petit Bateau is that it's always hard to resist, I always find something to buy !!
