Day 12 – A photograph of the town you live in.

 My street yesterday evening...
It started snowing around 13h00 yesterday, and from this moment until date unknown, the team was scared...
This is the story : we have (well, the Orchestra) a concert on Sunday night in Paris. This concert will be play the night before in Rungis (don't ask why, it's always like that !!). So the first rehearsal "was supposed" to be this morning. And for that, different things had to leave the office yesterday (for example, the basses, the music stands, the chairs.... All the heavy stuff.
Problem : snow snow snow...
The transporter was supposed to arrive at 13h00 at the office....
13h30 "I'm gonna be late" "no problem"
14h00 "humm...."
The poor guy arrived around 16h00 at the office, he stood blocked two streets from the office because of a car accident. He couldn't move, nobody else could...
After the office, he was supposed to leave to Rungis, so 2hours of driving when everything is ok...
In between, the Préfet decided to forbid every trucks in the Ile de France. Too dangerous. And the driver said that he didn't want to go there, too dangerous.

The girls were crazy, and around 15h30, the musicians were calling "I'm sorry but I don't know when I will arrive tomorrow morning because I blocked here... blablabla"

When I left, around 16h15 (earlier because scared about the trains), we were trying to call the bosses : do we cancel the rehearsal, yes or no ?

I left and realized that my shoes were ... Converse (not the tweed ones...)
I left and realized that it was impossible to walk on the pedestrians without slipping down.
So I took the subway at Goncourt to change at République.
WHAT A TERRIBLE IDEA !!

Usual, I walk from the office to République. I need something like 8 minutes. I prefer walking because République is huge and you lost too much time going from a line to another.
Yesterday, like maybe 1000 people, I thought I will die in the corridors. So many people, impossible to walk. So dangerous !!
I left the line 11 to the 9 (I lost 20 minutes in the corridors, usual you need 5 minutes) and ... two stops later, the sub decided to stop. I chose to walk. I was at the Galeries Lafayette, usual, you need 15 minutes walking to the train station :
EXCEPT when it's almost Christmas (and so, when you have alllllllll the decorations !!) and when it's snowing.

I almost drown everytime I wanted to cross a street (yes because it was snow and rain + pollution + + + ) and walking "quitely" on the pedestrian, a car arrived really fast in front of me (well the car was on the street). And, of course, there was a big puddle between the car and me. Guess who took a lovely shower ?

I finally arrived at the train station : my feet were really really cold, and really really wet, but I never fell.
The train was supposed to leave at 17h15, I arrived at 17h30... still here, I was happy (for once I was happy to know that the train was late) I found a seat next to the heater ! And the train left at 17h45.

I arrived at home around 18h30... Two hours later !

From my window this morning

On my way for two hours of driving lesson !!
You know what, it was the best lesson I ever had. Everything was perfect : a lot of snow and black ice. And this time my driving was perfect !!

The picture of the town I live in !
Far far away, the palace...
Do you see the golden gate ?
