Ok, so the gig is tomorrow, and I still have few things to do today, and only today !
I decided to give you some news before starting to work (in fact, the first thing I have to do is calling the venue and the guy in charge of the outside gigs and I can't call before 10:00, and it's just 09:21...)
So, on Wednesday, my Great-Uncle André died from a heart-attack. What we know is that he wasn't feeling good since few days before, he thought it was because of something he ate. On Tuesday night he wasn't feeling good and called emergency. The E.R said he probably died before arriving to the hospital. The funerals were on Saturday morning and nobody was able to go. He's living in South East, in a small city. It's really difficult to go there. My Grand-Pa couldn't go (he's acting really strangely, probably because he's really shocked.), his brother Pierre went there even if his wife is really bad because of her cancer, her sister Jeannine couldn't go too, and the last one, Claude, is still very bad too (even if he's a little bit better and better)
They announced the funerals really quickly, and so, for most of us, it was impossible to book train or flight (well, no need for flight, I'm not sure there is a direct airport to go there...)
On Wednesday night, I was at a nice meeting. It was to meet different entrepreneurs from Versailles. I was the only one working in Music Industry (the others were lawyer, web designer, architects, ...)
It was really interesting, and I was there to meet new people, to talk about the gig, and suggest bands for professional events... Don't know if it will really bring something, but, maybe.
On Thursday morning, I had the job interview. I left home as usual, took the train, and had problems with the sub. I had to go in Orchestra neighbourhood, there are in Goncourt, and the interview was in Belleville, I knew that whatever happens, I will have lunch there ! Problems with the sub, I called to say I will be late : 30 minutes late because of the sub company and technical problems !!! I was sooo angry.
The interview was for a job as Press Attaché at the SACEM, the French institution for French musical industry. It's the one that cares about copyrights ! First, the lady presented the company and the job.
Then, we (we were 6 girls to apply) had a test :
Then, we (we were 6 girls to apply) had a test :
- Some philosophical sentences with 6 suggestions each. We had to find the 2 synonyms for each. (I was still hot, with adrenaline, and anger because of the fact I was late... the Philosophy.... I did not understand the sentences !!)
- An exercise to know what's your logic and how you organize your work : Your boat beach, you survive on a desert island with 5 adults and 4 children. How do you do ?
- 24 cartoons with sketches. One character says something, you have to make the other one answer.
- Explain why you want the job and why you are the best.
- Write a short résumé of what the company is and what the job is.
I was a 2 hours test if my memory is good. The lady checked all our answers and called me to tell me I failed ! Nice !
I wrote the test but didn't have the interview ! I was sooo angry ! (again !!)
I went back home, and did nothing (well, no, it's not true, I sent some emails about the gig...)
Friday was a lazy day, and I did a little bit of shopping with my Mum.
On Saturday, my parents decided that we will have lunch in Paris, so we will pick my brother after school, and go there. We went driving and my parents made me drive in Paris. I was scared, but everything went ok ! Next driving test with my parents : Parisian ring road or Place de la Concorde + Champs-Elysées + Place de l'Etoile (the worst place to drive in Paris !!)
Yesterday I saw W. in Paris to give him posters, flyers and invitations for the gig. And this morning another email from Erika. I think it's time to work !!
