"Good evening Flore. It's your Grand Ma, I'm calling you because we have a little problem ..."
Hu-oh ! I don't like the problem on Saturday night, at 21:00...
"You know that we're supposed to go to the opera tomorrow afternoon with your Grand Father ..."
Yes I do, your first opera of the season, when there is a big family event in Mâcon because 100 years ago, your Father was opening his notarial office. But you're not going because your youngest son, my uncle is not "family event", even if one of his aunts died this Summer ... Yes, I know you're going to the opera...
"Well, you're Grand Dad is sick and so he cannot go there tomorrow. I was thinking that maybe you will like to come with me ..."
Welllllll ... Mum and Dad are not here this week-end, they are in Mâcon. Brother called to say that he will sleep at his friend house in Paris (better than take the ugly train around 01:00 ... especially when it's the last one !), I wanted to go out tonight.... "I'D LOVE TO COME !"
"What's the program tomorrow"
"It's Der fliegende Holländer by Wagner ..." (The Flying Dutchman)
(I hate Wagner)
"Lovely"
"Ok, so, meet me at home at 10:45 and we will take the train to go there !"
(10:45 ? SO EARLY ???!!!)
"Perfect !"
Finally, I didn't go out last night. Just a movie, alone, at home... Sad !
This morning, 07:15 I hear to door, Brother is back. 07:15 ???!!! Come on !!! You were supposed to sleep there !! Why did you take the first train, and woke me up 2 hours before my alarm clock ???!!! Anyway, I tried to sleep a little bit more, then coffee and pancakes watching Hannah Montana (yes ! I know !)
Then, bathroom, get dress, OMG, already 10:30, I'm not ready ... well not yet, and I need 10 minutes to go from home to their place !!
Ready, it's 10:35 ... Little run with my high heels, love that....
Almost there, phone call "Where are you ??"
Come one, it's 10:46, I just need to cross the street ... "I'm almost there !! I'll meet her at the train station"
Little run (because I lied just a little bit.)
My Grand Ma
Train Station
Train.
We went off the train at Invalides. Because I love them, and don't want to break their little habits, I didn't say "but, why are we getting off here and not at Gare d'Austerlitz ... There, we will have to cross the bridge, walk 200m and will be at the Opera ..."
Subway, millions of posters of Ez3kiel. Sweet.
We arrived at Bastille at 11:45. The restaurant is opening at 12:00, let's have a little walk in the sun...
Bastille, I love that place. One of the last time I went there was in June, with Maggie and Fishboy ...
Oh, the store Harley Davidson, did they hide the guys of SOA somewhere ? And my Grand Ma to tell me "Oh, I'd love to ride a motorcycle one day ..." (She's 87)
Restaurant, a lovely menu (well, Bofinger is one of the best place in Paris, and since my Grand Parents are going to the opera, it's their little "before the opera" cafeteria ...).
Following their habits : champagne, fois gras, salmon. Easy. Light. ... (May I have 10 coffees or I'll sleep during the opera ?)
I almost spit my Champagne out when I saw a guy come inside the restaurant. I'm sure he's W. friend, the one who told me that I had to stop being pretty ! It was fun.
And then, the Opera.
I think I missed a big part of the first act, because I was tired and the restaurant was perfect.
After that ... well :
- A classical opera, with modern set .... Not a big fan... Why the boat is a big white door ?
- We were in the best seats ... In the orchestra. Well, I don't like those seats. I prefer the first balcony. Why ? Because I love to look at the musicians during the Opera ... You don't see them when you're in the Orchestra seats ...
- But it was a nice day. I love to spend time with my Grand Parents, and I know that my Grand Ma was really happy that I came with her today !
- And... I really love my golden skirt ! (not the subject, but I don't care !)
Seeing this opera gives me the idea to watch Pirates of the Caribbean.... I should not say that to my parents ...
Cute! I like that skirt too! :) Grandma and you sound like you'll had fun! I think it was sweet of you to take her. :) :)
RépondreSupprimerThey're lovely.

RépondreSupprimeri have never been to an opera, i'm a bit jealous ;)
I love the opera. Vagner is not my favorite though. Interesting back story!
