Normandy : colours, rain, history, memory

I'm back from my little week end in Normandy.

I went, for the first time, in Deauville, Etretat, and to the D-Day's Beaches.

We had no rain (except the storm that began last night on french littoral and that continues little by little ...), so we had a wonderful moment.

Few pictures below, I don't think I'll post them all, there are too much.

The Beach - Deauville (yes the one with the boardwalks)

Did you ever try to take a picture against the wind ??
The Beach - Deauville

See Honfleur and die ? (No, usual we say that with Rome)

They fought for our freedom. Remember them.
Omaha Beach

They fought for our freedom. Remember them.
La Pointe du Hoc

The quiet. The nature. Memory.
Big holes in the ground. How could they do that ? Are people crazy ?
La Pointe du Hoc

A BIG storm in Etretat !

Even if there is a storm, the rain doesn't stop the pilgrim !
 Lil' bro', Mum, Dad ...

Somewhere beyond the sea,
Somewhere waiting for me,
My lover stands on golden sands
And watches the ships that go sailing.

La mer
Qu'on voit danser le long des golfes clairs
A des reflets d'argent
La mer
Des reflets changeants
Sous la pluie

La mer
Au ciel d'été confond
Ses blancs moutons
Avec les anges si purs
La mer bergère d'azur
Infinie

Voyez
Près des étangs
Ces grands roseaux mouillés
Voyez
Ces oiseaux blancs
Et ces maisons rouillées

La mer
Les a bercés
Le long des golfes clairs
Et d'une chanson d'amour
La mer
A bercé mon coeur pour la vie
