Musical Evolution

Every band, at a moment during their carreer, evolves. And that's good.
One artist who always plays the same songs, with the same voice and blablabla could be boring.
And so, I like when bands take risks to do something new.

Except one. Muse.
Showbiz was an awesome album made by simple guys who wanted to share good music.
Origin of Symetry was awesome too.
Absolution was the end. From Absolution til now, the albums are ... are produced by one of the Majors company who wants money before talent. Yes the band try new things. But good results are on just a song or two. When there 12 songs on the disc, it's not a lot.

I listened to the songs they made for the Olympics and ... well... it's not Muse anymore ! Where's the sound of Muscle Museum ? or Uno ?
They also declared that they get inspired by Skrillex. That Matthew Bellamy says that he's inspired by great composers of the past like Chopin or Saint-Saëns, ok, but c'mon Skrillex ? The worst puppet after David Guetta ? No way, Matthew, you can't say that !

So yes, I'm a little bit afraid of this upcoming album. I will listen to it, and maybe it will be a good one, but, not sure... the last 3 albums were unequal so...

Beside of Muse, the evolution of Linkin Park.
I always been a biiig fan since the first day ! So many english classes I spent talking about the band with friends instead of listening to one of worst teachers ever !

They released Hybrid Theory, and just after Reanimation that was only remixes of the first albums. But awesome remixes. Meteory was still rock as Hybrid Theory, and then Collision Course with Jay-Z. It was a big risk, and well, it was interesting !
Their sound and music changed with Minutes to Midnight. Since this album, I think it's completely different, but in a good way. Chester Bennington's voice is so much better, like he's not screaming anymore, and learned how to sing.
I bought the last album, Living Things, without listening it. And well, no regrets. This album is, my opinion only, a very good one. I think that there is only 2 songs that I don't like. All the others are great, very great.

Evolution is great, but it doesn't work all the time.
The funny thing is that in the beginning, Muse was with an independent record company and it was a great music, now, it's Warner and it's pretty bad. Linkin Park is with Warner since the first record, and it's still great. So I don't know. Maybe that Muse really wanted success in the USA, so they forgot talent and started composing bad music ? I don't know. Mystery.

For you, one song I really really like on Living Things :

Roads Untravelled - by Linkin Park
